The secret of fasting

The world is filled with so many beautiful things. The beauty is limitless and there is enough for everyone to have their feasts. The joy in consuming this beauty is a live long resolution for many. Going on holidays, having good food, buying a house, car and so on. The abundance is too much for anyone to consume it all at once. However we are only able to consume it in small measured quantities. It is like consuming poison in small quantities so that we get immune at some point. Like medicine where we get well at some point.

My goal is not to equate what is beautiful with poison but only to highlight that our reaction to both is the same. To savor and cherish whatever you eat or buy for yourself is the most beautiful way to enjoy it. The same way is to dread the poison that you have to stomach. It requires a mental attitude and a keen sense to truly enjoy beauty and to suffer poison. A strong attitude that is prepared to receive the benefits of the what it is about to be enjoyed or suffered is required. Knowledge and wisdom of the past and future of hedonistic living is a prerequisite. We have to be learned of both in beauty and in poison so that neither will become our master.

There lies a secret that has been practiced for centuries only to be labeled as an act of the poor. Only the have not's have been known to indulge in this because of the lack of it. It creates a mental attitude that was not there in the first place and sharpens the senses beyond what it can otherwise perceive. It is there for you to practice and it needs no teacher to continue its practice. You will become your master because you have decided to take that fast.

The people who really enjoy what is beautiful are those that have performed truly sincere fasting. Once the attitude and the senses have been tuned to be alert and ready for this world, will receive it in such awaited delight. At this point there is no more distinction between what is beautiful or poison. Everything is beautiful, all that is consumed is reduced to nectar. This is because our senses is capable of sensing only what the attitude dictates. Just like how we listen to what we want to hear, the senses will sense only what it wants to sense. This is a gift that we humans have been bestowed. Knowing this truth about ourselves we have to keep close to our mental attitude and senses through periodic fasting.

Don't let them stray, because it can turn all that is beautiful to poison. Always remember to come back to the secret of how to enjoy live.  Take a fast now because you can. It will make your next meal a more joyful one because you really longed for it. Eat and life live like you have been longing for it and this can only be achieved when you have been there for real. You mind is no fool, so being truthful is for your mind to create those powerful attitudes. Your blood will clean the impurities leaving the senses to their task. HAPPY FASTING.
