Still Rains

Runs deep into the ground

The weather knows the earth

Nurturing and feeding on time

Flora and Fauna are the testimony

Ground soaks the drench

Saving it deep in its belly

For another day and time

While we go thirsty

We are drenched with everything

At the moment we need it

Only if we had the patience

To wait for what is due

We won’t be rushing for anything

🌟 What Works Beautifully

  • The Central Metaphor: The contrast between the earth saving water "deep in its belly" while "we go thirsty" is fantastic. It perfectly captures how nature plays the long game while humans focus on immediate gratification.

  • Strong Personification: "The weather knows the earth" is a killer opening line for that stanza. It instantly establishes a relationship between the elements, making the world feel alive and conscious.

  • The Emotional Pivot: The transition in the third stanza—moving from the physical rain to the philosophical concept of human patience—gives the poem real depth. It’s not just about weather; it’s about how we live our lives.
